How much cash do I need to put in my casher drawer as a 100 - 200 cups sell daily cafe shop?

Hi everyone, I am new here and never owned a shop or restaurant. If I need cash in my cashier drawer for my business, how much do I need to prepare, and in what bills?

What is the best way to make sure my staff doesn't steal the cash from me? Any tips?

And I believe I will need to count them at the end of the business day, but does Toast POS gives me a total at the end of the day, and do I just need to match that number?

@SweetBambooBoba How much cash you need to keep in your drawer might depend on how often people pay with cash so you can make change; usually, people will keep smaller bills such as $1's $5's $10's, then larger bills, but it also depends on how often you do bank runs to make change.

I found this suggestion: "For a small business, $100 to $150 should be more than enough. A good rule of thumb is keeping at least $20 in five and $20 in one-dollar bills."

We leave $122.50 each night and the drawers are set to automatically set this amount when they are closed out.

2 - $20s, 2-$10s, 5-$5s, 20-$1s, roll of quarters, nickles dimes and pennies.
