We have sent several emails and notifications through Toastweb to inform our customers about the upcoming change. We also provided notifications on the terminals for customers to try out the change and get used to it before making it mandatory. Initially, we had planned to make the switch mandatory on January 8th, but we have pushed the date until now to give customers more time to adjust.

I haven't received any emails regarding this. Our restaurant was closed April -December 11th due to a semi truck running into our building but I still should have received communication through email. Just prior to our reopening we were welcomed by an additional surprise that we needed to buy all new terminals because our 3 yr old equipment was going to be obsolete. We saw the new layout on new terminals but reverted back to the original layout. The only message that I am aware of us ever receiving on the terminal was yesterday informing us of the permanent change. Very disappointing considering the $ we put into this.

With the update today; Open Items are no longer showing on the KDS Screen.

We utilize Seat numbers. Before when entering food items, the system would prompt to select seat number; now you have to manually select the seat before you enter items. Is there a way to revert back to the other way? Servers are not remembering to manually select seat numbers.

Go to your KDS >> device setup >> scroll all the way down and find ticket display option >> check all items or check "ticket with no course"

Just test it. Mine is showing open items as expected. I understand you already checked the setting. But I just want to make sure we checked the right spot again.

This is a new feature called order by seat, can be turned off under front of house settings and it will return to the old way.

I don't want to turn off seat numbers; I would like it to prompt for seat number when entering a food item; like it used to. As it is today, you have to manually select a seat, then enter items.

It won't turn off seat numbers, seat numbers is required for it to be turned on, will just return to the prompt that you want.
