Meal Pacing & Servers Holding Items

Servers can't hold items and then send another round of drinks, everything that was on hold will send.

I have meal pacing turned on (because it works for our kitchen)

Why is the hold button such a pain in the neck? Please help

You can't have expo firing and server fires courses individually on at the same time, or use the new server item firing with meal pacing on. The only option would be to split drinks onto another check and combine the checks later.

That is correct. I am wondering why Toast does that and how do we get them to fix this. Seems like a bug. If a server has food on hold and they go to send drinks and it auto sends everything - does not seem efficient to split the check just to send drinks in

Add a course for drinks... then fire that course

This system is missing features that a decades old system like aloha has had forever. The hold function needs a timer hold where you can set the number of minutes before it will fire that item(s), and if you select zero minutes it should hold until the server sends it. AND if something is already being held, it should be zero problems to order anything and send it without having to do more work like separate check then combine. This is the simplest fix, that should’ve been done years ago. The question is, will toast monitor these threads and learn from the people paying for this service?

I don't understand why Toast does not have this either. What is the point of the hold button if you cannot truly hold it.

And if you have meal pacing enabled then servers cannot hold courses from handhelds. It's ridiculous

Did you find a work around for this? I just installed a KDS, and I am running into that issue right now as I am setting up.
