Order Number Tickets

We use Toast on our food truck. When the customer completes their payment, we need a customer facing printer to print their order number on a ticket we can hand them or they can take from the printer. Would also be helpful to be able to customize and put notes such as, order may not be called in numerical order.

The workaround we have created, is for the printer to print a receipt for every customer, however that creates extra paper waste due to the length of receipt over an order number slip.

Any other suggestions? Can Toast put in a feature request for this as a printer setting/option?

You could try using a kitchen ticket instead, create a prep station called order ticket or something with that printer assigned, set to always print and not to send to expeditor. Then create a menu item with no cost that is your instructions as the kitchen name "may not be called in numerical order" could give the pos name a much shorter one, and set the prep station for that menu item to the order ticket prep station. Unfortunately you would have to manually add that item to every order though, but you would get a shorter ticket with the order number and those instructions printed. You could save space further by setting the kitchen ticket font size to small for that printer as well.

You can also looking into the Order Ready Board under Takeout & Delivery. This is just internet link associated with your Expediter. You can use any device that can sign into Toast and open a link. I have attached of photo go my active ready board now. Hope this helps!
