Hey, thanks for reaching out! To answer your delivery question, you can stack the fees if you do the following!

- Log in to Toast Web and navigate to **Payments** > **Service charges**.
- Select the **+Add** button to create a new service charge.
- Name the service charge, for example, "Delivery Fee."
- Set the **Charge Type** to either Fixed Percent or Fixed Amount, depending on your preference.
- For the first charge, set the **Delivery Distance Threshold** to 0 miles and the charge amount to $3.
- Save this configuration.
- Create another service charge for the additional distance.
- Set the **Delivery Distance Threshold** to 2 miles and the charge amount to $1.
- Save and publish your changes.
This setup will apply a $3 charge for any delivery over 0 miles and an additional $1 for deliveries over 2 miles, totaling $4 for deliveries over 2 miles.

Stacked delivery fees?

Regarding in house delivery.

I'm trying to understand delivery fees. Our previous system allowed for an area based delivery fee (one area is $3 and the next area is $4) It is basically based on distance, so, theoretically a distance based option would work, which toast offers. But I'm not sure how it stacks these fees.

Toast bases it off of a set distance and not so much a range. Example, anything over 0 miles can be allocated a charge.. or.. anything over 2 miles can be allocated a charge making 0-2 as free of charge.

Can I stack these charges so that anything over 0 miles is set to $3 and then anything over 2 miles is an additional $1 bringing total delivery charge to $4? Assuming the system applies both charges for anything over 2 miles.

The additional issue is providing this fee to the employee. Toast only offers a fixed dollar amount to go to the driver for each delivery instead of actual. For example from above, sometimes the fee is $3 and sometimes the fee is $4. Because of this I'm inclined to keep the fees and just pay the employee milage. Thoughts?

I am a new Canadian operator. Are the delivery distance thresholds in miles for Canadian operators? Would be nice to have it in kilometers.

Thanks for reaching out. Based on what I can find, it should be localized and show in Kilometers now. Are you finding that it does not? Could you provide a screenshot by chance?
