Preventing small orders from Third Party Delivery services

We have had a few orders where someone has ordered 1 candy bar for $1.79 or couple of cookies totalling less than $5. How can we stop folks from ordering such small orders. We basially lose money on these order not to mention the waste of time and gas for the driver to pick up one time. Any suggestions/ideas? Do you have a configuration change we can make in Toast to prevent this?

I have seen many locations make a separate menu for online orders. You could then create a variation of these items where you could order a candy bar, but maybe only in quantities of 10, which could prevent customers from ordering these items in such small quantities, or you could remove the item altogether!

Rob's suggestion is good.

Another option if you don't want to create a separate menu is to just uncheck the "Visible To... Online orders: Ordering partners" checkbox.

You can apply it to specific menu groups or to individual items.

Hi there,

As Rob and the www mentioned below, some restaurants offer a separate menu specifically for Third-Party ordering. At Egg Harbor, we do have a dedicated Third-Party menu, but we also allow guests to order nearly everything available on our full menu.

Set a Delivery Minimum for Toast Delivery Services®

To use Toast Delivery Services, you can add a delivery minimum.

This can be done by navigating to the left-hand navigational menu of Toast Web and selecting Takeout & delivery > Toast Online Ordering > Online ordering setup.
Scroll the Approval section and select Use Rules.
Select Enable Delivery Minimum as Reject at the amount you want to set as the delivery minimum.
Save and Publish your changes!

Not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for, but I thought it might point you toward a different approach like rejecting delivery orders based on the order amount.
