Old tickets randomly reappearing on Expo KDS

I'm having an issue where five to ten old, sold tickets will periodically reappear on the Expo KDS screen. Most of the time, the tickets are around 5 hours old; and there is usually a common item across all the checks. That common item could be something different each time, though. Fortunately, these checks never fired to the Prep Stations again, but it's a big inconvenience for Expo.

For example, there were 5 checks that reappeared almost 5 hours after they were originally fired. Each check had multiple items, but there was a Cobb salad on each check.

Another time, 4 checks reappeared 5 hours later and each one had a BBQ Burger as the common item.

Has anyone else had this happen? What did you do to stop this from continuing to happen?

We used to encounter this issue from time to time last year. We didn't do anything to solve the issue. It just stopped and haven't seen this issue recently. I would say it's likely a sync issue with your KDS. Maybe try to clear the cache and see if it helps.

1. Does the issue happen across all your KDS?
2. Is your Expo KDS hardwired by an Ethernet cable or it's connected wirelessly?
a) If connected via WiFi, try to run an Ethernet cable and see if that will resolve the issue.
b) If connected via Ethernet cable, it is connected directly to a switch or to a Toast printer?

1) When they reappear, they only do it on the Expo screen (prep stations are unaffected). The checks seem as if they're just being unfilled just one level, because the items still have the green check mark next to them and aren't reappearing at any Prep Stations.

2) It's connected via ethernet, directly to the wall data port.

Yes, the timer still shows its original Fire time.

I know fulfillment can be affected if an order is modified, split, or the dining option was changed, but it would show up as Recalled. None of these checks say Recalled, though.

You mentioned you tried clearing cache, have you tried any of the other typical troubleshooting steps like restarts, resync orders, or resync all data? Is this happening daily? Are you still seeing the patterns you mentioned previously with common item on all tickets or was that just a coincidence?

I've tried all of those steps, with no change. Still multiple daily occurrences, still with a common item. It has ranged from 1 to 3 checks during the slow part of an afternoon, up to 14 checks all at once during a busy brunch this last Sunday.

Under device status > sync hub device details, can you to see if the expo is connected to a local hub device (assuming it is currently assigned one) if it lists a different device I would try those same troubleshooting steps on that device as well.
