Anyone else having issues with the “you’re about to be seated” text message on Toast Tables?

Hey everyone 👋

Is anyone else running into issues where guests on the waitlist come in early because they got a text saying they’re “about to be next to get seated”? I’ve noticed there’s no option in Toast Tables to turn that specific message off, or am I missing something?

Also, does anyone else feel like the wording could use a tweak? The Guest Portal currently says:

“Based on table seating availability, smaller parties may be seated before you.”

But in reality, seating depends on table size, availability, and guest preferences (like patio-only vs first available). So it can just as easily go the other way around, and even when a guest is “next,” they might not actually be the next to get seated depending on what table opens up.

I really think we should vouch for Toast to reword this because it’s a bit misleading and has caused some awkward moments with guests thinking we skipped them. Has anyone else brought this up or found a workaround?
