3rd Party Apps Allow For Customers To Order More Than What Is In Stock

Hello! We are having an issue with our 3rd party apps that allow for customers to order more than what we have in stock. For example, our Toast POS system will show that we have 3 chocolate chip cookies in our store BUT because it is in stock, a customer via Doordash or Grubhub can order more than 3 cookies.

This issue does not happen when we 86 items, but if we have anything in stock, the quantity does not show up with the 3rd party apps. Has anyone been able to figure this out?

Do you use Toast for 3rd party integrations? Or some other intermediary? I use Toast for Grubhub, DD and Uber. When i mark an item out of stock, or the stock count drops with each sale, it seems automatically marked out of stock in all platforms.

This happens when you may have 3 customers all have one or two their carts and they all check our within moments of each other before inventory gets updated. (leave a buffer of one or two)

I think this is a workaround, but not a fix. The Toast backend has a code issue. Once someone adds an item to their cart, the inventory should automatically decrease. If they remove from the cart, it should automatically increase the count. When there is a conflict, someone unfortunately loses the race.

The buffer of 1 or 2 just barely holds up when as many customers ask at once, but it's not a production solution to depend on. @Rob, maybe pass it to the development folks.
