Why doesn't the system allow reprinting kitchen tickets for 3rd party orders.

This issue doesn’t occur often, but we recently had an Uber Eats order with items routed to three prep stations. Two stations received their kitchen tickets, but one station never got the print. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch it until the driver was already waiting.

In that situation, we expected to be able to simply reprint the kitchen tickets—similar to how we can reprint for a dine-in order or an in-house takeout order. However, it appears third-party delivery orders are handled differently, and there isn’t an option to reprint kitchen tickets for these orders.

Is this an intentional restriction? If so, I’m trying to understand the rationale behind it, because the inability to reprint creates operational risk when a single station misses the ticket.

Thanks. A customer service representative also mentioned the Marketplace laws. It didn't jive well with me to understand what the connection is, and it still doesn't. We aren't printing or creating a new order; we're just pushing the KOT again in case there is a technical error. The order number and such *should* never change. Not sure what the restaurant can actually claim is different.

In fact, the restaurant is always on the losing end with chargebacks. Even with deliveries, once a driver took two different orders and swapped them on delivery, we had to call Uber to get the money back, since they took money of both orders at first. It's a weird law that doesn't permit reprinting if the order number itself doesn't change. In fact, they can even put a small footer (reprint) to ensure this is a reprint of the same order.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir! People in the desk create these senseless laws and never understand the issues we go through.

I assume it has something to do with needing to get to the update order screen to reprint which is not allowed, I think I found a workaround, if you go to orders hub and long press an order, you will see a reprint to kitchen button there. I could only test with a toast local order but it worked for me.
