Production items keep coming back

Hi, we use production items for the restaurant so the line knows how many portions for specific items are needed. We also execute caterings so we have a menu and separate items set up for Catering. When we first set toast up we had help and production items were either added or added because of a copy of a restaurant item. I went through and removed the production items from our catering items. Saved and Published for all sites. Every once in a while I will get a call from a restaurant manager that production items don't seem to be reporting correctly. I check the catering items and sure enough those production items some how are added back. I am the administrator for the system and the only one who does menu edits or item updates. We have multiple sites but they all share our catering menu and items. I think this is a bug. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is a known pain point and happens because of how shared items / shared production items / menu versioning / publishing interact in Multi-Location Management (MLM). Curious, are you using Versions? If so, that could also be causing this.

Yes we do version, however… I am seeing this most on our catering and private event menus. These items and menus are not versioned. The only thing is we use location specific pricing for different markets. These items and menus are set up at corporate level and all stores use the same items and menus so they are shared in that regard.

Another thing is it will stay accurate then (im not sure what triggers it) but it changes back.

I think @Sdaniel uses MLM, do you have any suggestions here? I would try to take a screenshot or record this interaction and reach out to support for further troubleshooting!

Hi!

I am not too familiar with production items; we currently don't have any configured. Are those production items active? Although removed from the catering items, if they are still active is it possible that the target of those production items is targeted to a location group or location?
