In my diner we have an al a carte menu as well as a basket menu. Say i have an a la carte cheese burger, and a cheese burger basket, is there a way i can ensure that those two items are interconnected? As if i run out of burgers i could mark one burger out of stock and it would also mark the other burger out of stock as well. im running into the issue of since the burger basket has other items in it to make a meal for a certain price that im having to deep copy my initial burger and change the price but that then in turn disconnects the two burgers

I would have the Burger Singulary and use the modifier side of the item to add a 'basket upcharge'...

There are two ways to go about it in my opinion:

What @AaronDouro suggested. Using the base cheeseburger item and then a "Make it a basket" upcharge as a modifier on that item -OR-
Re-work your basket items to include a "Choose base item" modifier group.
- This could be a modifier group that simply has one choice, and have it be different for each basket
- Or you could re-work the basket to just be one item and you have to choose what the base item for that basket is...
- The kicker with this option is that the Basket Base Item(s) must be a modifier created using New Modifier from Existing Item in the modifier creation drop-down.

For example:

Cheeseburger Basket
Base Item

Cheeseburger (modifier made from Existing base item, marked as default in this group)

Side Item

Fries

Chips
Salad

----------OR----------

Build-A-Basket
Base Item

Cheeseburger (modifier made from Existing base item)

Chicken Tenders (modifier made from Existing base item)
Hot Dog (modifier made from Existing base item)

Side Item

Fries

Chips
Salad
