Toast Penny Elimination Rounding Option?

Hi Toast,

Can your team please start working on an option for the POS system to round to the nearest nickel in preparation for the penny elimination? I would like to enable something that benefits the store and can round cash transactions so we are not giving away funds every time someone makes a cash transaction. Any ideas? Thank you.

Yes this feature should be near the top of the new features list. Let's not wait until we're being forced to round before the POS can do it for us.

Wells Fargo has already stopped allowing pennies to be ordered via change order from its vault. Toast, we need a solution now.

To answer your post, though, we are working on a solution to round to the nearest nickel, but I don't have a timeline to share yet. So far, we have pushed this article out as the best workaround for now. Configure Cash Rounding During Penny Phase Out

Any headway on this? Banks are restricting ability to get penny's and the workaround, as stated above, is really not great! thanks

Its hard to believe that Applebee's, Cheesecake Factory and Marriott would accept the current "work around". Come on TOAST, everyone knew this penny elimination was coming. You have dropped the ball and us independents are paying the price.

Our bank just informed us no more pennies! Hopeful the Toast team can come up with better than the current complicated workaround(s). Lightspeed POS has a very simple solution. Something like this in Toast would be great. Two clicks, hit save, done!

The current Toast solution is a joke. We left Aloha and I miss the rounding function. There should be 4 choices- 1) Amount to round to: $0.05, $0.10, etc., 2) Always round up, 3) Always round down, 4) round the the nearest. Previously we rounded to the nearest nickel and in our last full year the total rounding amount was less than $10.

Hey there. It has been two months since Toast has addressed this issue that is a problem for us every day. If there is something that development is having an issue with in rounding to the nearest nickel, please let us know. Give us an ETA, PLEASE....
