Cashing out of a drawer with no cash

This is kind of hard to explain...I have a private event space that has a POS which sometimes has a cash drawer for events only. When there is not an event, we do not open the drawer.

When there is an event, there is a cash drawer and the POS is set to accept cash payments. After the event, when there is no cash drawer, we sometimes forget to set it to DO NOT accept cash payments, but our servers still cash out of that drawer (even when we ask them not to). How do I fix it when they accidentally cash out of a drawer that has zero cash?

You could also void the payment at the time and then close it out to the correct drawer. Or do you mean they collect their tips from that drawer?
