Thoughts on the New Sales Report?

Hi All,

I just started with the new Sales report format. Although I like it doesn't kick you back to the Accounting Overview page - it loads kind of slow. I'm wondering if Toast can reduce the amount of data panels that shows up on that comprehensive report or have that something users can configure themselves for faster load times. I'm also wondering how everyone else is using/liking/hating the new reports.

Are you talking about the sales summary? The speed has been one of my favorite things actually, it's substantially faster for me especially over long periods of time, a month took 30 seconds with the old one, and 7 seconds with the new one, and once it is loaded you can switch between say this month and last with no delay at all. Also like the ability to go back as far as I want without having to switch to regular sales report which does not have the same information. Also like being able to customize the display order, not having to click update or load report after changing a filter, and all the filters available without of having to enable them under 'more' every time. I like being able to sort data in the individual sections and download in CSV or XLS, and an improved XLS file as well with the different sections split off into sheets. I do miss the tabs to quickly get to other related reports though.

I like the new report mostly. And I agree with @rcmck, new report does load faster comparing to the old version. when trying to load a report for a month. I also like how "sales breakdown" report now offers more flexibility. I have been wanting to see how many beverage and food items sold hourly. The new report just hit right in the bull's eye.

The only downside of this new update is just like most of the other recent updates. Toast is trying to cram as much information as possible into one single page, which often makes the UI not very intuitive or user friendly.

For example,

This dropdown menu, which I use very often to navigate through different categories of reports, now is removed in the new report. Which is very inconvenient.

I notice that on the new sales summary version, the report only shows discounts per daypart, not net sales. Net sales per daypart is a metric we look at, and it would be nice to have that on the report instead of discounts per daypart. Is there a way to customize what shows on each block? Also, it would be nice to be able to give permissions to see the daily labor % without opening up all labor reports to those who don't need to see labor in it's entirety. Any input or suggestions?
