Can you run sales breakdown report by item for a custom date range?

I want to run a sales report where I can see the sale of a particular item over, say, a couple of months. If I do this for "last week", I have the option of looking at a breakdown by item name. But when I try to put in a custom date range, or "last month" or "this month," the option to break it down by item disappears. Surely there is a way to see a breakdown of sales by item over a longer period than just a week?

Menu breakdown would be a better report for tracking menu item sales over a long period of time.

@peeblesl By chance did you have any luck with this? Im trying to extract data not too dissimilar to this from our archives. Do you extract by the Data extraction function through the platform or can you run queries through a DataBase connection?
