Exporting payroll data to ADP

Does anyone else out there use ADP for payroll? I've been working with ADP to accept the Excel spreadsheet that Toast can generate from the Sales Summary page, but they're telling me that Toast isn't currently a vetted company. This seems odd, considering the popularity of the platform, so I thought I'd see if anyone else has experience with this. Thanks in advance!

Did you by chance figure this out? I am a new user of Toast in canada and a new user of ADP. I am trying to figure it all out.

There’s no official connection that I’m aware of.

To confirm, you’re looking for a way to export your employee’s time clock / hours into ADP to run Payroll, right?

Depending on your size and which ADP product you use, you can ask them to enable Time Clock / CSV Import. It’s not on by default in the ADP Run product my shop uses.

Once you do that, you have the ability to import something into ADP, but it has to be in a specific format. We developed a simple little custom web app where I can upload my time entries + order data from toast, and it does all the calculations for wages, jobs, and our tip sharing and spits out an ADP compatible import file.

If you can let me know what ADP products you’re using, it’s possible I could develop something for your use case. Feel free to message me.

who did you get to develop the webapp? it seems like it just needs to manipulate the export from toast correct and then fill in the tips?

I built it myself (I’m a software engineer). But yeah, it takes the time sheet export as well as the orders export to fill in tips based on the time period. We do tip pooling based on a share of hours worked per day, so it factors that all in.

I think others in this thread have proposed commercial solutions that would work well as what I’ve done isn’t user friendly and is very specific to our use case.
