Have you inspected the loyalty accounts linked cards? Are there a suspicious amount of them? Any similarities between the checks, same server for example?

I recently opened up loyalty points, but something really bizarre happened.

I got an email that maybe one account is suspicious. It made 400+ points in one day, strangely different tables, different customers and all see points going to a single account. I couldn't explain it. I tried to adjust the points balance to the initial 25 signon bonus + the first transaction. The next day I noticed similar. So now I deactivated the reward for that account.

Support couldn't figure out either, and said I should reboot all devices.

Absolutely nothing in common. Different servers, completely different cards. Amex, visa, and each of those cards are different. Not a single thing in common. I tried to reduce the balance to remove many of the extraneous credits. But immediately they started adding up next day. So I deactivated that account for now.

Were those cards listed under the linked cards for the account? You just started loyalty so I don't know if it is your issue but overtime if servers are not asking guest about rewards accounts beforehand and just splitting payments instead of checks you can easily get multiple cards linked to one account. I see this often when regular customers dine with friends who are also frequent customers, they will split the payment multiple ways and then those cards get linked to an account.

Ah, thanks, it could be that.. the weird part was the phone number wan't a actual phone number, So I can see how this can be confusing. Maybe the backend should just add points only from the one linked card even if its split payments, especially from one check. So they don't get rewarded for others paying. I also don't know how to create a reward account per card, it could be done, but the setup is not ready to cater to that I think.
