Z Report printout not showing all sales categories

The printout for the z report is missing one sales category even though the sales report on toast shows it. Is there a setting or something that I am missing?

No it's just an on or off setting to include them in the report or not. Is it a recently added sales category, or has it been printing and recently stopped?

I added it around the beginning of the year to help with tracking certain items, a few months after I added some others. I can't find a printed report with it on there, it also doesn't show on the POS itself. It does show up in sales category when I look at the toast app on my phone and the toast back end reports. I usually just look at my phone for the numbers, but my new closing manager has been using the z report printout which is how we finally noticed.

Okay, maybe it is just off completely, look under UI options, scroll down the z-report configurations, make sure sales categories is checked.

That option is checked as on. It is only the one category, the others are on the report. Is there a limit to how many can be displayed?

Not that I know of, I have 7 and they all show up. And you said the one not showing up was added first? How many devices do you have? I would try resync of all data on the devices, possible they didn't get the configuration changes when you first made them. If you are not familiar with that https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Resyncing-All-Data-on-Your-Devices also wouldn't hurt to clear cache as well.

The one that is not showing is the one I added last. We have five devices and none of them show it.

this missing line would make 8 sales categories.

i have resynced the devices and the missing line still isn’t there

So I added a category today (for a total of 😎 and it is showing on z-report screen and printout. Maybe try archiving the problem sales category, creating it again and reassigning it to menu.

Sorry for the delay. I archived the payment, recreated and reassigned it. Finally had sales in that category today and have the same problem with it. It's a confusing issue, and while not totally 100%, would be convenient if it acted like all the other categories!

So strange, may I ask what the name of the problem category is? Is there anything unique about this category name compared to the others?

"Food - Catering" is the problem category. I also have "Food" and "Food - Alimentari", neither of which have had any issues.

Ok, was thinking maybe there was a special character that it didn't like, but you have no problem with a similar one. That gave me another idea and I tested a sales category on a hidden menu and it still showed up on the z-report. I'm out of ideas, have you opened a ticket with support? Maybe Rob can get you some further help with this issue.

Hey Kevin, could you contact support and start a case for further investigation here? If you already have created one, could you provide a case number?
