Hey all!

I missed the specific info about Toast Delivery Services. What date is it changing to Uber Eats & what is the delivery radius going to be, and what is the new cost of delivery services?

We also did not receive communication until today from our Door Dash rep. Our rep mentioned this is taking place on October 23rd, 2024. We only use Door Dash as our third party ordering. Does anyone know how this will affect us if we don't use Uber Eats?

The communication I saw was that the switch only affects TDS, and your 3rd party providers and rates are not affected. TDS will be switching from Doordash Drive to Uber Direct, as their delivery service provider, and the per-order fee goes down from $7.49 to $6.99, saving us $0.50. I have not seen any updates since receiving this message.

I want to provide an update here. It seems there’s been a change to the original messaging screenshotted above, and now Toast will be keeping the extra $0.50 as a flat service fee that, as far as I can tell, is new. So we end up paying the same fee per order as we were before the switch. Can anyone confirm if my takeaway is accurate?

UPDATE: I think I’m wrong. The flat $0.50 applies specifically to automated billing for TDS, and that article hasn’t been updated since August.

We met with out Toast rep yesterday, and unfortunately she didn't have answers to our questions with this change. And by looking through Toast Delivery Service articles, it seems a lot of the information still mentions Door Dash and needs to be updated.

Thank you so much, Rob! Toast delivery service is still appearing as Door Dash Drive on both order reporting and Order Hub. I am wondering if this change was delayed?

I couldn't confirm, but it seems the articles are being updated. This will only affect TDS and not your integration with DoorDash.

Hey Rob! Thanks for this info! Unfortunately this change does affect our company as we have an exclusivity contract with Door Dash. Do you know if this change has gone into effect? When looking at orders via Toast Delivery services in the reporting, and Order Hub, Door Dash Drive is still listed. From my understanding this was a change that should have gone live on October 23rd.

We haven't seen the change yet from DoorDash to uber eats when TDS comes through on a ticket

I have been fighting an issue with TDS orders NOT showing on my KDS. We see the bell but the FOH has to print the ticket for the kitchen, the order never comes thru. I have had numerous tickets and tech support has updated EVERY setting under the sun, three times! Could it have anything to do with this? My orders still go thru DoorDash.

Hi! We received word that due to many merchants wanting to continue to use Door Dash Drive you'll have the option to continue with Door Dash Drive or be switch over to Uber Direct. Have you seen a notification on your Toast Merchant Portal?

Between today and mid-December:

You will receive a notification in your Toast merchant portal asking if you want to be transitioned to Uber or would like to continue working with DoorDash.
You will need to click the opt-out link in the notification in order to continue working with DoorDash.
- If you do not, you will automatically be switched to Uber Direct.

I reached out to my team and this is what they had to say:

"Restaurants will now have a choice of staying on DoorDash Drive or switching to Uber Eats Direct. Keep an eye in the Toast backend for an update by next week where you'll be able to make your selection and see more options about both providers."

Where is this voice. I was switched today with no notice. I have orders I need to edit delivery times on and have no way to do it. Been dealing with Toast Support and thought I was finally at finish line to fix it and was disconnected. No call back. Please help. One off the busiest days of the year in the pizza biz and I've been on the phone all morning.

I am on with support right now and they are telling me it can't be switched. Also telling me I need to c contact Uber for any account info. I just spoke to escalated support with Uber and they said it's a Toast issue. This is just another disaster with Toast with no communication. I'm currently operating blind.
