Hardware - Device Hub

We are excited to announce our new Device Hub, a centralized overview of hardware (terminals, handhelds, and printers) that helps manage device status and serial numbers, connections, and provides alerts for visibility and troubleshooting. Get real-time visibility into all your Toast hardware devices from a single dashboard, no matter where you are!

POS - Cash Drawers Update

We want to make you aware of an upcoming update so you and your teams can be prepared.

At the end of July, we will begin rolling out an update to the Cash Drawers page that improves drawer states and simplifies the user experience.

With this new update, we’ve focused on developing features to improve your experience based on feedback from users, just like you! You will see:

  • Reduced Drawer States: The update simplifies cash operations by reducing the number of cash drawer states from three (Active, Open, Closed) to just two: Open and Closed.
  • Simplified User Experience: By reducing the number of upfront options, this update provides a clearer, more focused interface, making it easier for users to understand what actions to take and when.
  • Enhanced Cash Tracking: The new user interface allows you to easily understand where cash is stored and will update shift review to help streamline processes.
  • Improved Reporting: With new reports, you will see a clearer view of cash drawer activity, with the ability to print activity.

This feature is only available for Toast Flex devices. This feature is not available for Toast handhelds.

Payroll - Built-in Proactive Alerts

With this update, Toast Payroll now flags things like missing SSNs, auto clock-outs, and unapproved tips—so you can fix them fast and run payroll with more confidence.

Branded Mobile App - Support for Multiple Item-Based Rewards

With this update, restaurant guests can look forward to even more perks! They're now able to choose up to three item-based rewards to redeem right from your branded app. It’s an easy way to keep guests coming back for more of what they love.

Branded Mobile App - Order Status Push Notifications

With this update, guests using your branded mobile app can receive a push notification on their device when their pickup order is ready or their delivery has arrived. It’s an easy way to keep them in the loop and make sure they never miss a meal!

Branded Mobile App - Support for iOS Live Activities

When this feature is turned on, your guests can see real-time updates on their iPhone home screen for orders placed through your branded app, thanks to iOS Live Activities. Instead of opening the app, they’ll have a live view of their order status right at their fingertips.

Test Kitchen - Loyalty Misuse Report

Loyalty Misuse Reporting provides restaurant owners and GMs with non-intrusive insights into potentially suspicious behavior related to loyalty points redemption, accrual, employees using their own details to create loyalty accounts and redeeming points against cash orders. This new beta report helps you identify unusual loyalty behavior that might otherwise go undetected. It gives you a clearer view into how points are being earned and redeemed, and by whom, without requiring hours of manual auditing or second-guessing your staff. It’s already helping several Toast customers catch patterns they had no visibility into before.

Once enabled, the report appears under Reports → Cash and Loss Management → Loyalty Misuse and includes:

  • A store-level summary of loyalty accruals, redemptions, and signups
  • An employee-level breakdown showing loyalty usage across staff activity
  • Flags for accounts created using employee email or phone number

Designed to help you review patterns, not police people, so you stay in control without creating friction on your team.

Hey everyone, check out the cool video @AshleyFromToast created for the updates this month!

I am trying to get digital storefront purchased.

Would love to see the Discounts report show the item being discounted in the available column list instead of clicking into each line item. Also set limits on discount amount allowed, ie - up to $10 off instead of taking $10 off. 

Love the video vs having to read everything. Quick and to the point.
