Hi all! New to Toast and have the following questions.
1) It's a bit confusing for our staff to see prices for the same item listed as wholesale and retail. Is there a way that they can only see retail and we can enable wholesale prices only when dealing with wholesale ticket?
2) Do gift cards only work with Toast gift cards?
Thank you in advance.

1) Yes, you can hide your Wholesale Menu on the Toast Web and unhide it under "Device Setup" when you need it. But you will need to manually hide the menu again on the Toast Web once you don't need it anymore. Or you could use the "Invoice" feature to handle your wholesale orders so you don't need to hide/unhide menus every time. You can learn more about "Customer Invoice" here: https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/How-to-Send-an-Invoice
2) You can re-use your gift cards from your previous provider. You will need to import the account numbers and balances to Toast. You can find more information here: https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Importing-Gift-Cards

I did not wish to hide the Wholesale Menu. Right now, when I'm dealing with a retail customer, I can see both the wholesale and the retail prices, and that can be confusing and make it easy for people to make a mistake. If I pick "water" for example, I see four prices. I see wholesale>water>1pt 3.00, wholesale>water>1gal 7.00, retail>water>1pt 4.00, retail>water>1gal 8.00
I just want to see the retail prices.

I understand how it can be confusing for your staff to see different prices. Hiding menus(changing menu's visibility) would be the solution to achieve the closest result you stated in your original post. If you do no wish to hide menus, you can also mark "out-of-stock" to all the items under Wholesale Menu and put the items back in stock when you need them. There could be other workarounds but it depends on your menu setup.

Thank you for the reply. On the gift cards, we have like 200 unused cards. Can I somehow use those? I won't get new cards in time for the holidays.
