How to send loyalty email to a Toast List compared with a Custom List?

If I upload ourMailChimp Subscriber List to Toast with the end goal of sending a Loyalty email to the MailChimp subscribers. How do I avoid sending to those who have already signed up for the Loyalty program via Toast? 

I see that Toast will avoid sending duplicate emails to customers who appear on multiple lists BUT...

Is there a way to avoid sending to the MailChimp folks who have already signed up for Loyalty? Without having to upload 2 different MailChimp Subscriber Lists (one with and one without the loyalty folks)?

This is one of the things that's holding us back from converting our MailChimp emails over to Toast. It would be great to avoid removing the Loyalty members from the MailChimp Subscriber List manually in Excel given that it's a LONG list.

Toast central article also mentions loyalty as part of the duplicate removal. I assume any email addresses that are not loyalty members would be automatically added to the Guests not enrolled in loyalty list, as well as the other toast lists. ( Eventually anyway, I don't think it would be immediately.) 

It looks like it's not possible. Here's what Chat said:

  • (1) We have a MailChimp subscriber list that I plan to upload to Toast so we can send a Toast Loyalty Promotion email to them. But I suspect a good number of the MailChimp subscribers have already signed up for the Toast Loyalty program. So I would like to not email the subset of MailChimp folks who have already subscribed. My question is: how to do this? Am I stuck comparing the MailChimp list to the Toast Loyalty list in Excel? Is there a way to send to the MailChimp list once I’ve uploaded it as a Custom List on Toast AND within Toast, compare it to the Loyalty list so we don’t send to the folks who have already signed up?
    (2) I’d also like to send a Loyalty promotion email to those who have dined with us but not yet enrolled. It appears that the “Guests not enrolled in loyalty” is a total of the “Guests who have ordered online” and “Guests who have not ordered online”. How can I only send to guests who have dined in but not enrolled?

  • For the first point sadly enough there's no way to sort out the list with a compare function but I do know it is possible to do it through excel via comparison formula.

  • And regarding your second inquiry, as of now this is not available, nonetheless I do understand that you would love to have this feature available, so I can definitely submit this feature request to be considered for our engineers.
