Large tabs causing terminal to crash

Hello, we are running into an issue with large tabs causing the POS to freeze while trying to edit and pay the tabs. We have 40+ terminals and a few handhelds and have large ($50,000+) tabs along with cash/credit transactions. When combining the tabs the system lags/freezes as well when we try to house account the tab. We can't allow all staff to see other staffs tabs due to volume and the way our tip outs work. The issue seems to be the items not consolidating on the order screen, which I've been told can't be helped since we have to send the orders to track tabs. Our current workaround is to void the entire order and ring it all back in and modifying the quantity. Does any else have any ideas or solutions? Thanks.

Does this issue happen regularly just recently? Or It has been like this since day 1.

It has happened previously with tabs that large and significantly larger but I do wonder if it has something to do with the newest configuration. I've gotten feedback from my staff that the screen lags and slows down more than in the past. 

The new experience UI update did make the POS slower when we first tried it out last November. But it got optimized soon in later patches.

**Disclaimer: I'm not a Toast expert. The following statement is my personal opinion and does not represent Toast.**

Your case here is a little bit extreme which your tabs may potentially become too large and exceed the limit of the hardware, resulting serious lag and freeze. If you had those large tabs and didn't experience the lag and freeze when you first started with Toast.  The followings are something you can do to see if the issue can be temporarily resolved:
1) Clear the cache and storage daily
2) reinstall the app
Noted that those steps shall be only done before your business is open or after hours when all payment is reconciled.

As mentioned earlier, this is not a common situation that average users would run into. I will tag community manager @Rob here so that he and his team can provider further assistance to you.

Thank you for responding and the advice. I have cleared the cache and storage beforehand and actually made sure no other apps were running as well. Will try to reinstall the app but it does seem tied to the newest UI at some level. We seem to be a bit of a unicorn with multiple large tabs and cash/credit transactions running at the same time and our overall scale of operations.
