Recycle Gift Cards

Howdy,

We get quite a lot of patrons that utilize the rewards program here at our coffee shop and many of them use the physical gift cards. I was wondering if there is a way to reuse these used up gift cards or if they're pretty much useless once the full balance has been redeemed. If they are useless, does anyone have any other creative suggestion to do with these? I just always try to keep conscious of product waste here.

Thank you,

-DG

Not from the front end but you can edit customer information from the back end under gift card balances. I guess you could technically resell them, it could get a little messy if you use loyalty though because every  gift card is also a rewards account and every rewards account is also a gift card and I think if a customer uses a different gift card with their rewards account it kind of links the two together as far as looking up cards from the POS.

I'm not sure what that does and I haven't seen any material on it, do you happen to know where that function is located?

It is available to Toast employees only in Card Details.  It's next to the "Adjust Balance".  One rep instructed me to use that function and that it could only be done on a PC.  I wasn't able to find it on a PC either so I went back to customer service.  This rep said it was only available internally so needless to say, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be available to me or not.

I see. That might work, but I don't think that's what its intended use is for. What is your case number? I can escalate the case to a senior rep, and they can assist you further in determining the best workflow for this!
