How do I get to practice hands-on

How do I go to practice where I can do hands on practicing doing orders I’ve never used the POS system. I took one of your courses, but I want to practice

Thanks for reaching out to the community! Practising is a good idea, we have a few options, one is Test Mode, but this affects the entire restaurant, so if it's only you trying to practise, this would not be a good idea, but if you want to run a "test mode training" for the entire staff, it could be helpful.
Otherwise, we offer Toast Classroom. Below are a few more links!

Definitely switch to Test Mode - I like to do this before open hours to get that extra practice in!

There were a few threads on workarounds; should still be there somewhere.

This is what we've implemented based on what I've found:

I think there's another thread somewhere in the community about work arounds...someone suggested to me to set up a 'Training' Dining mode that doesn't print to any print stations.  It adds the variable of having to change the dining mode when the order is started, but as long as that's done, you shouldn't print to any prep stations.

We also set up a couple 'Training' employees for training staff to use (they clock in under their own number that has no permissions yet).

When the trainee is done, you'll need to void off all of the checks that they've created so you don't have unpaid checks at the end of the shift.

It seems to be working for our new staff when they're training.  It's certainly been helpful to get them more hands-on training with the handhelds.
