Feature Request: AI Agent / MCP Connector for Toast Menu and Pricing Automation

I’d love to see Toast support an MCP or AI-agent connector so restaurant operators can connect Toast to tools like Hermes Agent, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT agents, OpenClaw/OpenCode-style local agents, or other automation systems.

The main use case is workflow automation for things like:

  • Updating menu prices
  • Creating or editing menu items
  • Managing modifiers and descriptions
  • Comparing menus across locations
  • Preparing seasonal or monthly specials menu updates
  • Auditing menus for missing info or pricing mismatches
  • Pulling product mix/sales data to support menu decisions
  • Updating online ordering descriptions and availability

For example, I’d like to upload a monthly specials document, have an agent compare it against Toast, draft the new menu items, prices, modifiers, and descriptions for each location, and prepare the needed Toast updates.

A Toast-supported connector could expose tools like:

  • get_menu_structure
  • search_menu_items
  • get_menu_item
  • create_menu_item
  • update_menu_item
  • update_item_price
  • update_modifier_group
  • compare_menu_across_locations
  • get_product_mix_report
  • get_item_sales_report
  • export_menu_snapshot

This would let operators build workflows like:

“Review this new specials menu, compare it to Toast, draft the needed item and price changes for each location, and prepare the updates.”

Right now, a lot of this work still requires manual clicking, exports, imports, or unofficial workarounds. A Toast-supported MCP/API connector would make it much easier for restaurants to use the AI tools they are already adopting for operations, menu management, reporting, marketing, and planning.

The ideal version would work with MCP-compatible clients and also expose a standard API path for approved developers. Restaurants could then connect Toast to local or cloud agents and build custom workflows around their own operations.

I think this would be a very useful bridge between Toast and the AI tools restaurants are already starting to use.

Hello Cole,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your suggestion! We're always looking to improve Toast and appreciate your feedback. While a Toast-supported MCP/API connector letting operators use AI agents to manage menu items, prices, and modifiers, compare menus across locations, and prepare seasonal menu updates isn't currently available, I’ve passed your request to our team for consideration. In the meantime, if there's anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
