Server Firing - Un-fire & Add-Ons

I am in the middle of configuring a new KDS system. We have had Toast for about 4 years and finally upgrading to KDS. We previously only had server printers that would print tickets to hand in to the kitchen (Expo, Hot, Cold). Never even had printers in the kitchen. We are fine dining with 3+ courses being the norm.

I am looking for a solution. I am going to be using the Server Firing option - not individual items, just courses.

If a course needs to be “un-fired” for some reason, is there a way to display this? Other than just verbal?

Also, if a guest were to add on a course or an item - is there a good way for this to be integrated and displayed within their current order?

I have seen a previous post talking about drinks as well. If I want to fire drinks while waiting for an entree course to be fired, is there a better option than having the server have to un-check their entree course while firing the drinks?

Seems like some odd, some what simple things that are becoming a disruption in service. But overall excited to go live! Thanks for any feedback anyone has.

The article below answers your questions, but I have asked my team about the others.

Item and Order Fulfillment on KDS

Unfortunately I am looking for this option from a server perspective, or possibly an Expo. I am not worried about a fulfilled item.

Scenario: a server accidently fires 2 salads when ordering a new round of drinks (because they didn't de-select the salads after inputting drinks). They catch it right away and want to correct it from a FOH order screen, and not have to verbally communicate it to the kitchen. I would like it go from FIRE on the 2 salads, back to HOLD.

Oh, my mistake; once a server sends an order to the kitchen, I don't see any way for the server to remove it.
