Do you have questions or feedback from the Product team? We'd love to hear from you in the comments below! 👇

Loyalty - Item Based Rewards

With item-based rewards, restaurants using Toast Loyalty can offer a specific reward to loyal guests rather than a cashback reward. You can configure a menu item, menu group, or menu subgroup as an earned reward.

Order and Pay - Menu by service area

We understand that various spaces within your restaurant or venue may have unique menus, such as a patio that only offers drinks, a rooftop bar with a limited food selection, or maybe even pickleball courts that serve up a few special items.

With Menus by Service Area, an included feature of Mobile Order & Pay™, you can now configure different service areas to display specific menus. As a result, you can give guests the option to easily order and pay right from their phone, regardless of where they sit or how your space is set up.

It only takes minutes to set up Menus by Service Area in Toast Web. Follow this guide for step-by-step instructions.

Toast Websites - Imagery enhancements

We added image editing, automatic image compression, and an image gallery to Toast Websites. Now, every image that a restaurant operator uploads to their website can be stored, retrieved, cropped, and rotated. With these improvements, it’s easier than ever for customers to make a visually stunning website that represents their brand well.

Catering Online Ordering - Customizable messages and special menus

August brought some new updates to Catering Online Ordering, including the ability to share a customizable message for all guests who visit your Catering Online Ordering page. This is great for providing promo codes or highlighting specials such as holiday ordering. With the holidays fast approaching, you can also now show limited menus while guests browse your regular catering offerings, making them easier to discover and drive more holiday orders.

Hi Todd, you can upvote the request here to stay updated on when this feature is prioritized, in progress, and launched!

Loyalty Based Items. For example I want to give out a Free Small Cheese Pizza for X amount of points. I just tested it and all the added toppings also were discounted. How does this make any sense? It should either be a cap on the amount off, like the actual cost of a cheese pizza or not add on the modifiers. Extremely disappointed. I waited for this to come out for a long time and I'm stunned to see such a flaw in it.  Any info on how this happened or why?

Hi Jimmy, we appreciate the valuable feedback here! The current free item reward functionality is our first step toward a more customizable loyalty program with more to come in the future. As we work on cooking up new ways to offer a reward, we will be keeping this scenario in mind.

Regarding the Catering Module.  Does anyone know if we are able to mark an entire Catering customer 'account' as Tax Exempt so the tax deduction is simply automatic each time the customer orders? Or are we still having to manually remove tax every single order the customer places?

Hi Erin, thank you for the feedback! At this time we cannot make customer accounts Tax Exempt by default. Our Catering and Events Product Management team has prioritized this work for early 2024.
