inventory values

we have completed our inventory counts.  we have at least 70 items on the list that do NOT have a value associated with the products counted.  Everyone of those mising product values have a purchase order attached to them and downloaded into the system.  We can see wht was paid for the products on that screen.  Why does the inventory vqlues come up with zero dollars for these products?  We also had a couple of duplicate items so I removed them from the count list.  The items removed from the count list continue to appear on the inventory list.  Why is that happening also?
