PLEASE! Ability To Change Online Scheduled Orders Pickup Dates/Times

Please can Toast make it possible to change online orders Pickup Dates & Times!

We are a butcher shop and place our Online Thanksgiving Menu up like 7 weeks out from Thanksgiving to allow customers to place schedule future pickups for Thanksgiving Week. 

But due to the fact that Toast Online Ordering defaults to the earliest pickup time available, some guests place Thanksgiving orders for immediate pickup.

Our Online menu is plastered with Banners and Each thanksgiving item contains in it's description very specific instructions that read like this: Please note that when you are placing your Thanksgiving order, our platform defaults to the earliest pick up date (today), please make sure to edit your pick up date and time at checkout. Thanksgiving pickup dates are November 25, 26 and 27 so please select one of these dates and add your pickup time. The last day to place orders for Thanksgiving is Sunday November 24th.

But customers still place orders for immediate pickup! Now when you receive upwards of 600 orders for Thanksgiving and 30% of the customers make te mistake of not editing their pickup times you can only imagine the nightmare.

To make matters worse it is not possible to change the pickup date and time on the orders hub for online orders.

We have to call the customers and either tell them we will void their order and they have to place it again (and they still cant figure it out) or what we do to not cause customers any trauma is just call them asking if they meant to place for  thanksgiving then just manually write on the ticket what date &  time they want for Thanksgiving week. What a nightmare.

And Yes, I did verify all this with toast support and they said it is a highly requested feature.

TOAST MUST FIX THESE THINGS: its so basic and logical.

1. For Online Ordering have a choice  for Delivery or Pickup BUT WITH NO ASAP TIMES PRESELECTED - Let the customer choose pickup or delivery and then they themselves enter when they want it, For Example: asap in  accordance with the preset quote times or schedule for later date and time. Please Please do this - Some customers are older and currently the way Toast online is set up is not user friendly enough.During the checkout process the Edit button for pickup time/date needs to be HIGHLY PROMINENT as well.

2. Received Online Orders in Orders Hub or Pending Orders should be  able to be UPDATED with ABILITY TO CHANGE A SCHEDULED PICKUP DATE AND OR TIME. 

3. Make it possible to create menus that are only available for pickups on certain preselected dates. For Instance our Thanksgiving Menu: Anyone ordering from it would be required to select future pickup dates that we determine, for instance November 25, 26, 27..These would be the only dates and times they could select for the Thanksgiving Online Menu.

These should be standard features for Online Ordering and not the typical response of "It's Been Highly Requested" or "That Feature is available in Toast blah blah blah for an extra $ per month.

And again, YES I did verify all this is accurate with Toast Support and it was one of the ones that sounded like they knew what they were talking about, which is far and few between the last 3 years or so....

This is resolved. Unfortunately it took getting through to multiple Toast agents until I got one who knew how to explain using Time Based Ordering Rules using the PRE ORDER rule (Not the minimum lead time rule). This is a relatively new feature on Online Ordering Pro. Again today I was with a Toast tech reviewing something and I had to show them what Time Based Ordering Rules is, they had no idea it existed.

This item will be visible from Oct 21 - Nov 24 and can be picked up by a guest or delivery driver from Nov 25 - Nov 27.

Thanks for reaching out with this feedback! One workaround that I can think of is setting these pre-orders up like bakery locations do, maybe even making a separate menu just for these pre-orders. More info on how is below!

Unfortunately it took getting through to multiple Toast agents until I got one who knew how to explain using Time Based Ordering Rules using the PRE ORDER rule (Not the minimum lead time rule). This is a relatively new feature on Online Ordering Pro. Again today I was with a Toast tech reviewing something and I had to show them what Time Based Ordering Rules is, they had no idea it existed.
