Account Update: We’re making your Toast Delivery Services billing even easier

I just received an email from toast team stating that starting on October 1st, Instead of your restaurant paying DoorDash directly, Toast will automatically withhold applicable Toast Delivery Services fees from your daily settlements (including any tips) on a per order basis. Im hoping and wondering if there is a way to opt out of this for a few reasons:

#1- delivery issues/refunds from doordash. that usually shows up on my monthly invoice and makes it very easy for me to reconcile.

#2- when I get an invoice at the end of the month, I have 30 days till its due and Additionally once its due I can pay with a credit card which gives me even more time until i need to pay that. with the new way toast will deduct it from my daily sales, giving me less flexibility with my money.

#3 I cancel on average 20 orders a month from doordash either because customer canceled, or bigger orders that I don't trust doordash with. How will toast know that i canceled the order? with the monthly invoice, I can review and make sure I wasn't charged for the canceled order.

#4 Delivery fee discounts. I do over 100 Delivery by doordash orders per week, which gives me a discounted pricing on the flat rate that doordash charges. With toast taking the money out of my daily settlements, how would that work?

While I understand how this can be very beneficial for certain restaurants. I would very much prefer to continue paying my doordash invoices directly to doordash. Please let me know if I can opt out of this feature.

Thank you!

I have some of the same questions. The email was confusing as F. Literally have to make things difficult. Another thing that doesn't seem like it was thought thru and probably never asked an actual restaurant person. This seems like it's going to be very difficult to reconcile.

I cancel the orders in the DD portal. Larger orders, etc. I really hope it's the same process. Same with discounts for volume. Paying the invoice with CC was very convenient too.  We are on the same page here.

Here is a bit more information that my team shared with me!

The cancellation process remains unchanged, which means that your location will not be charged. Toast has comprehensive information on all order statuses, including cancellations. Once DD processes refunds, they will be promptly credited back to you. For convenient reconciliation, you can access a monthly report in Toast that is similar to the DD invoice.
