Feature Request: Set Maximum Dollar Cap on Percentage Discounts

It would be amazing if Toast could add a feature to set maximum discount amounts.

For example, if I want to offer 10% off with a maximum discount of $20, there’s currently no way to do that. The Min/Max Check Amount setting in the advanced discount options doesn’t solve this issue. If a customer spends over $200 online and tries to apply the promo code, it shows as invalid.

Is there any way this could be implemented?

You can create a separate discount for orders over $200 with fixed $ off of $20.

Thanks! That could work as a workaround, but it’s not very smooth and could end up being confusing for customers. If Toast could add a built-in option for a maximum dollar cap on percentage discounts, it would make promotions like this much easier to manage.

I believe you can use the same promo code so on customer’s end there shouldn’t be much difference.

That's honestly a great idea and I appreciate the advice! Thank you! Although i am still pushing for the feature request to make it all simpler.
