Modifiers

If items come in different sizes and prices, how do I create the modifiers for different sizes and price?

If you’re referring to the modifiers being the different sizes to choose from, you actually don’t need to use modifiers for that.  You just need to create the item and then under the pricing strategy, change it to size pricing.  From there you can assign different prices to the specific sizes as needed.

Hi!

If you're working with a simple item that only varies by size and price, I'd recommend using the standard Size Pricing strategy. Configure Size Pricing for Menu Groups and Menu Items

However, because we're an MLM with more complex pricing tiers that varies by locations and menus, we handle this differently. We’ve found that the most effective approach is to create a modifier group that includes the different sizes or portion options for an item. This setup allows us to customize pricing and sizes more flexibly. We also use R365 for theoretical cost tracking, and this method aligns well with that system.

For example, we offer pancakes in multiple portion sizes. Instead of using Size Pricing, we created a required modifier group for portion selection. Each modifier has a negative or positive price adjustment, depending on the portion size, which is subtracted or added to the item’s base price.

You need to make sure you have PMM enabled (pizza menu management. This allows you to have size and sequence pricing. I will post a detailed example of this later today or tomorrow feel free to contact me if you need help understanding as it requires specific steps snd extreme attention to detail to function properly.
