Hello,
We are having an issue with tracking take out orders to the proper dining options category. We are a sit down restaurant that also does a good amount of take out. We have all the dining options set up to keep track of sit down revenue vs. take out revenue, but some take out revenue is being counted as "Dine-In" sales. You can select the dining option when opening a new ticket, and all this is being accounted for properly. The issue is when we have a "Dine-In" table that orders some food to go. In this scenario, the servers have an open "Dine-In" ticket, but can select the "Take-Out" dining option as sort of a modifier to any individual item. The POS knows that it is "Take-Out" because it isn't charging the state sales tax on the item, but the sale is being recorded as a "Dine-In" when the sales are broken down at the end of the night. This is causing a discrepancy between what the POS says are our monthly "Take-Out" sales are, and what the POS is calculating sales tax on. Is there some way to get the modifier dining option to track to the "Take-Out" sales? Or would the server need to start a separate new order under the "Take-Out" dining option to keep track of this properly? Thanks!!

Are Take-out orders being generated at the same terminal usually? You could set that terminal default to Take-out. but if Dine-in is ordered from that terminal it would need to be adjusted back. Just a thought

Yes. All the terminals are used for both Dine-In and Take-Out.
