Hello everyone,
I am VERY new here and I am trying to figure all of this out; I was tasked with "how should we handle tips that are placed online?"
This is very new to me, newly hired on and I am new to the hospitality industry, and we are still figuring out the kinks with online orders.
We are only open in the mornings from 7 - 3 PM and things can get pretty hectic; right now our servers are trying to get the online orders ready to go and our host jumps in when available as well as the manager. Right now there is no system set in place and we are kind of all over. I am hoping that someone out there has it down pact and can share their successes with me.
I thank you all for everything and I hope I asked this question where it makes sense.

Tips from online ordering are considered "Credit/Non-Cash tips", which can be found under Z-report. As for "how it should be handled", it really depends on the rules you have such as percentage tip-out, tip pool, or tip shared. More information on your situation will help the community provide you accurate and helpful feedback.

This is what we are doing now:
"Tips given by customers through Online Orders are pooled daily per location, then split amongst Servers, Hosts, and Expo based on how many hours were worked by each person that day. "
From what I understand that servers do 98 percent of online orders; is this fair? The owner asked me to look into it; and as I said I am new at this and I honestly don't know what is "fair" I am looking to see what others are doing?
Thank you...
