Today it was brought to my attention by a server that when a customer makes a partial payment towards their tab total, the system won't allow a new receipt to be printed that reflects the remaining amount due. So, if a customer wants to put 50$ towards their bill with a visa gift card, there is no way for an employee to return to a table with a new receipt that indicates the 50$ payment AND the remaining balance due. I talked to Toast technical support and they said the system just isn't capable of doing that. I would think that would be a pretty standard part of the system since I would imagine most people like to see a clear and concise remaining balance that they need to pay. Anyone else notice this issue?

Hi @SCCulinaryGroup, I was able to check in with our product team and learned this:
"After a customer makes a partial payment towards a check (with a gift card for example), the server will be prompted to print Receipt #1 in the picture below which highlights the gift card payment amount. If the server then prints the receipt with the new order amount (before taking a secondary payment) they will see Receipt #2, which highlights the full original total, the subtracted gift card payment amount, and the new amount due. Once a secondary payment is taken to close out the check, they will see Receipt #3 which highlights the secondary payment amount but not the primary gift card payment. It appears that with Receipt #2, the customer will be able to see the new remaining balance and the primary payment."
That being said, this config (if turned off) may be contributing to payments not showing on the printed receipt when printed from the orders screen:
Please let me know if that helped!
