Hi,
New to the Toast POS system and so far so good. We have a few things to work out to make it optimal for our shop. One being, how to easily build our menu items to allow for single/double/triple portions. We are a Pizzeria and need the ability to allow our guests to by default chose a single topping, but also the option for double, triple, etc. I can find no clear and easy way to build out this option nor has customer support provided a clear solution. This has to be common for "most" restaurants. Any suggestions, greatly appreciated!

It comes down to two things:
1. Do your staffs take order from your guests or guests place order themselves at kiosk?
2. everyone's "optimal" way to build an efficient, easy to use menu is different. It's best that you start off with putting yourself into a position either staff or guest and think how you'd like the experience of navigating through your menu options to be like. And draw out a menu tree with your menus items and modifiers that are attached to each of your menu items
Here are several, in my opinion, very helpful posts from other peers on how to build a menu. You may find some ideas from them:

Assuming your toppings are charged, for example $1, the easiest solution is to allow the same modifiers to be added more than once, so staff or customers online can add pepperoni 2 or 3 times or more and it will adjust price accordingly to $2 or $3, and on kitchen tickets it will show as 2x Pepperoni or 3x Pepperoni, but this is not supported by some third party ordering platforms if you plan to use them. The best option for compatibility across many platforms is to have separate Extra Toppings modifier groups. More on Duplicate Modifiers More On Compatibility Here

We created modifier groups for toppings,
Whole, left half, right half, & double toppings.
