Sales Summary

What is the difference between "Total Sales" and "Total Payments" on the sales summary? These sound like they should be the same thing, but the "Total Payments" is over $600 more. First night with the system & feeling confused. Thanks!

Gross sales = sales (pre-tax)
Net sales = gross sales - discounts - refund amount
Total sales amount = Net sales + Gratuity + Tax + Tips + deferred
Total payment (this number includes taxes and tips) = sum of all forms of payment e.g. cash, credit cards, gift card, etc
