New checkout mode built for retail

We've launched Retail POS Mode — a simple and more efficient checkout experience built for your cashiers. Every item rings up in fewer taps across barcodes, PLUs, SKUs, and search. Speed items and speed actions are configurable in the new Speed Screen for the products and actions you sell and use most to keep checkout lines moving. Now access Retail Mode on your POS homepage!

Dedicated Retail Care Support 

Support that's dedicated to you and your business. Meet the Retail Care team — here to support your retail business every step of the way.  Looking for help? Start a chat through Toast Web, the Support Center, or the Toast Now app to connect with the Retail Care team. Dedicated Retail Care chat support is available from 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. ET, seven days a week. After-hours and phone support continue to be available through SMB Care.

Hi @richardprather, great question! While Retail POS Mode is a new mode, you can switch back on the POS homepage to the mode you've been using anytime you'd like.

Retail Mode is a new checkout mode on your POS homepage built for retailers. From a single screen you can scan a barcode, enter a PLU or SKU on the keypad, or search for an item by name. You can also set up speed items and speed actions, plus check a price without adding it to the sale and fix a quantity or remove the last item without restarting checkout.

It's included with your POS plan, and you can set it as your primary mode or switch between it and Quick Order whenever you want. This article walks through setup: https://support.toasttab.com/en/article/Get-Started-With-Retail-POS-Mode.
