You’re constantly battling inflation and rising costs, and increasing check sizes is one of the best ways to help increase profitability. We’re bringing you a major new feature that centralizes how you manage, configure, and optimize all of your menu upsells into a single page on Toast Web.

This update simplifies your operations and gives you greater confidence that your upsell strategy is optimized for execution every time.

What this means for your business:

  • New Revenue Superpowers: Menu Upsells are now available in Guest Facing Display*, Kiosk*, Toast Flex, and Handhelds—making it easier than ever for your staff to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • One Source of Truth: Manage every upsell prompt—from your Kiosk to your Flex device—all from one centralized location.
  • Save and Publish on Your Terms: You can now manually save and publish changes, giving you the power to fine-tune your prompts down to the last detail before they go live. No more accidental pushes.

In an industry where success is in the small moments, this is the kind of unbelievable precision that can make or break a busy shift.

Test Kitchen - Seamless Checkout

Seamless Checkout transforms the end-of-meal experience by removing the need for physical card exchanges or waiting for the check. When guests make a reservation, their payment details are captured and securely stored using PCI-compliant encryption. At the end of the meal, the bill is automatically settled to the card on file — creating a frictionless, modern dining experience.

For operators, Seamless Checkout speeds up table turns, reduces payment errors, and allows staff to focus on hospitality rather than transaction handling. Guests appreciate the convenience and security of leaving without the added step of paying at the table, while restaurants benefit from higher efficiency and stronger guest satisfaction.

Key Benefits:

  • Automatically processes payment at the end of the meal — no physical card required
  • Saves staff time and reduces checkout friction, improving operational flow
  • Enhances guest satisfaction with a smooth, modernized payment experience

Test Kitchen - Auto Payroll

Toast Payroll is introducing Auto Payroll, a new feature that automates payroll processing. For a limited time we will offer select operators access to Auto Payroll to help you pay your employees using the time, tips, and pay info you already track.

With Auto Payroll, you will:

  • Receive a summary at the end of each pay period telling you which action items need your attention
  • Get a final heads-up on payday morning. If everything checks out, we will automatically calculate your payroll
  • Receive a confirmation once payroll runs, before submission, and include a confirmation with taxes, fees, and payments
  • Always maintain control, giving you the ability to cancel an Auto Payroll run before 5pm on pay day

We’re inviting payroll operators to get early preview access. You must be a Toast Payroll customer in order to join this waitlist.

I'm not the only who's been asking for a full size mobile tablet to take orders and charge cards. Then you just came out with the same lame size handheld upgraded again.

Totally understand where you’re coming from, some restaurants prefer a larger tablet experience. The new Toast Go® 3 has an intentionally compact design for mobility and durability in fast-paced settings, easily fitting into aprons or pockets to keep servers in true “go” mode. We'll absolutely share your feedback with the product team!

And some restaurants aren't full service. I can't think of anything that needs more mobility and durability than a fast food setting. I don't think your product teamSure, you can tuck it in your apron, but in fast food, you're taking order after order after order and charging. We had to stop using the mobile hand units outside to take orders because the screen is entirely too small to try and take orders fast, especially in the sunlight. Go to Whataburger, McDonald's, Wings and more, and many other fast paced fast food units and see that they have these units that have been promised since I signed up. You say some restaurants prefer a larger tablet experience, but you have offered none. At all. I can't even order a tablet from a 3rd party to use that is built and designed because I can't even process credit card through it because of your security measures, which I get. There's hardware out there designed for this, but you refuse to implement it. " We'll absolutely share your feedback with the product team!" Just a slap in my face as I've requested this time and time again and nothing ever comes. The rep told me they were working on a new mobile unit, and surprise! its just another Go unit upgrade essentially with cell connectivity for an extra cost. Shame.

Any plans to make up-sells device specific? It'a a nice feature but if it has to be enabled on every device it is kind of unusable. Makes sense on devices where a guest is in front of you or on the phone, but when they are not it just adds the risk of accidentally selecting the up-sell when entering orders.
