Adding Direct deposit without Plaid

So I have hired a few guys and I am trying to set up their Direct deposit, but toast is asking me to go thru plaid.  I know I have just put in the account and routing for people without using plaid. Things have changed, I went to the help articles and found several articles saying I can without using plaid. Is there anyone here that can help. I did call toast payroll and that wasn't any help. Support is terrible

Are you getting an error message? Based on the steps you shared you should be able to set it up without plaid.

"Select the X in the top-right corner. A new pop-up will appear that says Can't find your bank account? Choose Add bank account to return to the previous iteration of the direct deposit page and then follow these steps.

I get to that screen and i click on Add bank account. Then plaid shows up i close it and the next menu never appears.  Step 2 never appears or happens
