Creating internal employee-only appreciation tokens or gift cards within Toast. A client currently recognizes outstanding performance and guest-mentioned efforts through reviews, unfortunately lacking a trackable and transferable system.
Question:
Has anyone implemented a internal appreciation system within Toast?
Scenario:
- We want to implement internal "gift cards" to reward employees for exemplary service, exceeding expectations, or being mentioned in positive reviews.
- These tokens should not impact sales revenue, incur tax obligations, be transferable, and be redeemable only for food items.
- Currently, they issue paper "cards", then manually discount a tab by the manager, leading to tracking and recording challenges.
Considerations:
- Trackability: Can TOAST be used ensure redeemed tokens are recorded and monitored effectively?
- Non-transferability: Can TOAST help to insure the intended employee need to be present to use the token?
- Limited scope: Can we restrict redemption to specific categories (e.g., food only)?
- Tax implications: "Discounts" do have tax implications, what can be done to mitigate this for internal rewards like these?
