EMV Cradle Card Reader is not working

The EMV Cradle Card Reader is not working and is has a light indicator that is red. Toast support could not help, tell me what causes this, nor offer any options than buying a new one for just under $1000. Has anyone else had experience with red light on the card reader and resolved it? Are there used options to purchase less than $1000?

No, we have the one that attaches to the terminal.  I have swapped to other side, performed multiple resets and other troubleshooting with toast reps.  I guess I need to see if a used replacement is available anywhere.

Ok, well if it does actually need replacing I am not sure who told you $1000 but just the replacement card reader can be purchased through the shop for $134 https://www.toasttab.com/customers/shop/product/01t4W00000BVCxgQAH
