Epson TM-M30II Wireless Thermal Receipt Printer Login and Password

Anyone else having trouble accessing the Epson TM-M30II wireless printer interface to change the IP address?

I’ve tried every login combo I can think of:

  • epson/epson

  • admin/admin

  • epson/serial number

  • epson/MAC address

  • epson/blank

  • admin/blank

You get the idea.

I’ve factory reset the printers twice, they’re adopted into the Toast network, printing just fine from terminals and handhelds, and they all have valid IPs.

The issue is I cannot get into the backend via browser or Epson NetConfig while connected to the Toast network to manually set static IPs.

And to top it off, I’ve been on hold with Toast support for over 90 minutes. Weekend support is basically nonexistent, no one has answers, and second tier doesn’t exist on Sundays.

Any ideas?

And to answer your last question, yes, they are great. This is the first problem I’ve ever had with any of them. I have them in multiple client locations. I set them up in multiple restaurants, and even one retail. This is my first instance where I’ve had an issue with them.

So we’ve got nothing? Even Toast is stumped. They’ve changed the original instructions in the knowledge base, which tells me they know it’s broken but haven’t figured out a fix yet.

Their hardware expert specialist team has been great, but this one’s clearly in the hands of the dungeon trolls (a.k.a. the programmers).

Worse, an onboarding rep wasted time, more importantly, my time, by pushing me onto some fly-by-night POS contractor who’s barely been in business a year. I spent 90 minutes doing baby-step troubleshooting that went nowhere. I’d have had better luck with the first tier chicken farmer after hours tech support team.

PS (siderant):
If you’re a third-party contractor, stop introducing yourself with “This is Dumb Dumb with Toast.” No! you contract for Toast. You don’t work for them. If Toast isn’t signing your checks, you’re not “with Toast.”
If I’m involved and you say that in front of a client, I will call you out.
I make it very clear to customers: I work for the customer, not for Toast.

Maybe during the process of setup and moving to the toast enhanced security network the username is changed? Have you tried Toast as the username and serial as password yet? That is what is used on the toast printers, they might change it to keep it consistent.  Unfortunately I don't have one of these printers to do any testing/troubleshooting.

Yes, I had the same thought. The username appears to be correct, it’s only the password that’s missing. I’ve tried every possible combination, even tested other wireless units using the Epson Net Config tool. At this point, it’s clearly a programming issue.

I wanted to follow up on this issue. The solution is to change the primary user of the account. This setting is not what it seems; it is a backend aspect that only Toast support can see. Only Tier 2 support may have the ability to adjust this. If you encounter a similar issue, please reach out to support with this information, as it should help expedite the process!
