Forced Clock-in required

Scottg

One of our Flex 14 terminals does not require employees to clock in before using the quick order feature. The other one does. I don’t know how to disable the forced clock in, and I’m not sure why the two terminals are behaving differently.

I would like my employees to be able to take orders without clocking in, since sometimes this happens when they’re finished with their shift.

Also, I’ve dissected the enforced schedule button, and that doesn’t fix the problem. I’ve also re-synced the device, and also rebooted it. I’ve also chatted with tech-support, who keeps telling me to uncheck the enforced schedule box, which doesn’t do anything.

The weird part is that the behavior is different on our two separate Flex 14 POS stations. One of them does not require the clock in, but the other one does.

Thanks for reaching out to the community, this sounds like a syncing issue with one of the terminals.

To allow employees to take orders without clocking in, you need to adjust the settings related to the time clock and schedule enforcement.
1. In Toast Web, navigate to Front of houseOrder screen setupUI options.
2. Scroll to the Time Clock section and ensure that the Enforce Scheduling option is set to No if you want to disable the forced clock-in requirement.
3. If you have any schedule enforcement settings, navigate to EmployeesEmployee management and select Schedule enforcement. Make sure that the settings do not require manager approval for clocking in or out.

On the terminal that is not following this resync this device - Resync All Data on Your Devices.
Thanks for reaching out. Please let me know if this resolves the issue!

Thank you for the support, but I’ve already deselected the “enforced login” feature, and I have also re-synced several times. Also, my employees are tipped and hourly workers, but that doesn’t explain why one Flex14 does not require clock in, but the other one does.

so I’m still stuck.

appreciate any other suggestions.

You also need to make sure that they are listed as tipped, cashier, and hourly.

Yes, I also insured that the employees are tipped in hourly. Remember, one of my flex 14 allows employees to use the register without clocking in, but the other one doesn’t.

So something’s different between the two stations.
