I was wondering if anyone has found a way to keep track of WASTE in TOAST. We'd love to be able to end the day in each store with the staff typing into TOAST all the expired items they're throwing away. I don't see any way to make this happen in TOAST. It would be a great feature for them to add to the program, it seems to me it would be fairly easy programming on their part and it's a super-useful tool for businesses to check their true COG.

Hey Jason! If you use the "Discount" or "Void reason" options we suggest using the "Discount" workaround because when an item is 100% discounted generally it means it was made, but "voids" usually mean the food was not made. Just an idea but do whatever works for you! We also have waste management in the xtraCHEF inventory integration more on that below!

Off the top of my head, maybe you could try use "discount" or "void reason" to get the result you want. You can have your employees to input in all thrown-away items and either use 100% discount or void the order at the end of the day so it will show up on your report.

Thanks so much for letting me know about the WASTE feature in XCHEF Rob! We just added that product on to our subscription and are setting it up so perfect timing. We will make use of that feature, it sounds like exactly what we were looking for.
