Toast Support: Chat is now live for on-the-go assistance

In addition to our Customer Support help numbers, we’ve recently introduced live, on-the-go Chat Support. Available in Toast Web (just click the blue button at the bottom right of any page) and the Toast Now mobile app at your convenience. 

Chat with us using your device of choice, and transition smoothly without losing your place. Seamless and easy, so you’re never stuck in one place. With live chat, receive real-time updates and push notifications so you never miss a message. Plus, chat history is always saved for easy reference, ensuring seamless continuity. 

Start with our bot for quick answers, or seamlessly connect to an agent for personalised support on any question. Easily upload a photo or video to the chat for a quick visual aid to expedite the resolution process.

Menu Upsells Beta in Test Kitchen

Automated upsell prompts keep extra earning opportunities top of mind, helping to increase your average check size. 

  • Put prompts where they can’t miss them
    • Recommendation for menu pairings, modifier suggestions, and upgrade automatically populate on the terminal and handhelds
  • Easily program custom upsells
    • Create your own recommendations and they’ll pop up with select menu items – or as a suggestion at the start of a guest’s dining experience. 
  • Keep track of performance
    • Our dashboard keeps you in the know, from upsell counts and % of total sales to average upsell impact, top upsell items, and employee upsell performance.

We’re bringing better communication directly to the POS terminal and handhelds, where your team can’t miss it (whether they skip the pre-shift meeting or not)

Test Kitchen - Loyalty Misuse Reporting

If you have Toast Loyalty, you can now access the Loyalty Misuse Reporting!  

Loyalty Misuse Reporting provides restaurant owners and GMs with non-intrusive insights into potentially suspicious behaviour related to loyalty points redemption, accrual, employees using their own details to create loyalty accounts and redeeming points against cash orders. This new beta report helps you identify unusual loyalty behaviour that might otherwise go undetected. It gives you a clearer view into how points are being earned and redeemed, and by whom, without requiring hours of manual auditing or second-guessing your staff. It’s already helping several Toast customers catch patterns they had no visibility into before.

Once enabled, the report appears under Reports → Cash and Loss Management → Loyalty Misuse and includes:

  • A store-level summary of loyalty accruals, redemptions, and signups
  • An employee-level breakdown showing loyalty usage across staff activity
  • Flags for accounts created using employee email or phone number
