In this month's post, you can find updates on the following:

 

Toast Tables- Experiences

If you’ve been thinking up new offerings for your guests (special weekend brunch, anyone?), Experiences from Toast Tables is your way of bringing unique bookings into your mix. Think prix fixe meals, beer flights, special tasting menus, and more. Unpaid* Experiences are now available for Toast Tables Plus customers.

Toast Tables- Schedules

These new updates give Tables customers greater control over table bookings, with more customisation and fewer clicks. For example, Schedules can help with the rush after your local team wins a big match with unique booking rules (like turning off online availability on your patio for a few hours, deposits, days bookable, etc.) without disrupting the rest of your booking operations. The update also includes Pinned Reservations (below).

Toast Tables- Pinned Reservations

Pinned Reservations – a visual indicator to let you know when a table has been manually assigned, so it won't move unless they move it. Learn more here.

With Toast Tables™, you also have the ability to set up special dates or schedules for your restaurant. Examples include:

  • Closed or special hours for holidays or renovations
  • A private event in which you want to block reservations from being created in only a certain part of the restaurant
  • A special event where you want to change reservation availability or turn times and set up a guest/host facing description (ex: We are hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner).

Toast Tables- Digital Chits

Give your staff the tools they need to enhance their hospitality and improve the guest experience by putting visit notes, such as guest details, special occasions, and more (collected through Toast Tables reservations and through guest profiles) right in their Toast Go® handheld POS devices and POS terminals.

Digital Chits can benefit several members of your front-of-house team, such as:

  • Managers: Easily empower staff to view, transfer, and recall visit details.
  • Hosts: Relieve the host of needing to remember and transfer every little detail to the server, and prevent communication breakdowns.
  • Servers: Know the guest and their preferences by showing party details without having to ask the host and disrupt the flow.

Digital Chits are currently available to all Toast Tables customers.

Guestbook - Guest Hub

Know your guests better than ever with the new Guests Hub in ToastWeb. Understand guest types, such as new, returning, or lapsed, and gather insights into their average spend, order frequency, and more. Plus, with updated Guest Profiles, you can view even more details about each individual profile in an easy-to-use format. It’s all live within the new Guests tab in Toast Web, available at no extra charge for all Toast customers!

Test Kitchen- Menu Upsells

Automated upsell prompts keep extra earning opportunities top of mind, helping to increase your average check size. 

  • Put prompts where they can’t miss them
    • Recommendation for menu pairings, modifier suggestions, and upgrade automatically populate on the terminal and handhelds

Test Kitchen- KDS Runner Fulfillment

With this instant access beta, restaurants using Toast Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) will gain access to enhanced item-level status tracking at the expeditor—featuring a double check mark indicator when an item is fulfilled by the expeditor or runner—designed to improve current limitations that force staff to rely on memory or manual workarounds like printed ticket.

With the current KDS setup, outside expeditors and food runners don’t have the flexibility to update item statuses directly. This can lead to confusion, missed items, and frustrated guests as teams rely on memory, verbal updates, or printed tickets to stay organized. Our new solution gives your team a clearer view and better control over the order delivery flow.

Toast’s new Inventory Management tools provide visibility and control over your stock operations - without the need for a 3rd party integration.

  • Centralise your stock item data with Ingredient Library - capture properties such as units of measure, cost, allergens and par levels for all your ingredients.
