Our Catering Online orders are showing up in the Catering page with their correct order numbers (#440, #441, etc), but they are assigned Order #1 when they show up on our KDS screens. This leads to confusion and duplication when orders are assigned or filled with the wrong numbers. Is there a way to have them retain their order numbers from the Catering module into the Toast POS/KDS system?

Thanks for reaching out! At the moment, Catering Online Orders and the Kitchen Display System (KDS) use separate order numbering systems. This means Catering orders will appear with their correct numbers (like #440, #441) in the Catering dashboard, but when they’re sent to the KDS they’ll be assigned a new local order number (often starting at #1). If possible its recommended to have a dedicated Prep Station or KDS screen for Catering Online Orders. This helps staff easily distinguish them without relying on the number sequence.
Our product team is aware of the request to have Catering order numbers carry over into KDS and POS, and it’s being tracked for future improvement!
